P&G Hygiene to pay royalty to parent co

Mumbai , March 1

PROCTER & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd on Tuesday informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it will be paying royalty of 5 per cent net of taxes to Procter & Gamble Company, USA for the use of technical knowhow and trademark provided by the parent company.

``The company enjoys outstanding research and development knowledge-pool of P&G USA which spends over $1.8 billion a year on research and development,'' P&G said in a statement to the bourse.

For July - December 2004 period, the royalty payment due is Rs 7.07 crore.

This amount and royalty amount due for January-March 2005 will be reported in the results of current quarter.
