GREENTECH Foundation, a Delhi-based non-profit organisation promoting environmental protection and industrial safety, has decided to bring in expertise and latest technologies, from the US, South Africa and Russia.
The NGOhas already started working with Russian and South African agencies.
Two delegations from these countries would attend the upcoming Greentech conference slated to be held at Khajuraho in May.
The three-day event, beginning on May 11, included OHSAS India-2005 (International Conference on Occupational Health, Fire, Safety and Security), Safety Award 2004-05 and an expo on fire, safety and security.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr Kamaleshwar Sharan, President of Greentech Foundation, said the venue for the convention had been shifted from Kathmandu to Khajuraho because of the political problems in Nepal.
He said the foundation had plans to focus on specific industries, while taking up awareness and training programmes on environment protection and safety.
At present, the foundation addressed all the segments as a whole. "We will chalk out specific programmes for segments like cement," he said.
Mr Kamaleshwar, who was in the city to announce the annual convention, said foundation's rating system was gaining popularity among industries. It rated about 150 companies in the areas of environmental protection and safety and security.
"We have prepared benchmarks and evaluate companies on these parameters," he added.
The Russian delegation would make a presentation on `Safety in oil industry'. Prof Nikolay P Zapivalov, Chairman of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, would lead the delegation.
