Omega brand ambassadors Pierce Brosnan and Sonali Bendre launch the Omega latest collection `Constellation Double Eagle' watch in Mumbai on Monday. The new range is available in a polished lacquered white dial or a matt black dial, both of which are priced at Rs 142, 000 onwards. — Paul Noronha

IN a bid to establish its presence in metro markets, Swatch Group India has planned to launch eight exclusive Omega boutiques by the end of this year.

"We have identified select cities like for Omega retail foray this year. These outlets will house all special editions of Omega watches besides offering our existing range of watches," Mr G. Kannan, Country Manager, Swatch Group India, told Business Line.

Omega has been rapidly expanding its distribution base in the country and these stand-alone stores would be based in Chennai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Hyderabad. The company today also announced the launch of Omega Double Eagle Constellation range of watches here in presence of its global brand ambassador, Pierce Brosnan. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kannan, said, "The popularity of Omega has grown manifold during the last couple of years. It was only imperative that we honour our patrons with something more."

The newly launched Omega Double Eagle Constellation range has an intricate rhodium-plated finish of circular graining, Geneva wave décor and gold gold-plated engravings, with a blue-steel screw.

Another attractive feature of this watch is its revolutionary co-axial escapement, which reduces friction in the movementand offers better long-term accuracy; it also has a column-wheel chronograph mechanism.

The range is priced at Rs 1,42,000 onwards.

Omega will also have below-the-line promotional strategies built around the current Omega brand ambassador, Sonali Bendre.
