Announcements Praj gets Bajaj Hindustan order Our Bureau
Mumbai , Feb. 9 PRAJ Industries Ltd has been awarded a contract to install a Rs 25-crore distillery attached to a sugar mill in North India by Bajaj Hindustan Ltd. The distillery, with a capacity to produce 160 kilo litres per day total spirit with provision of 150 kilo litres per day high-grade neutral spirit, is attached to the sugar mill at Kinauni, Meerut. It will be the largest extra neutral alcohol plant in the country, Praj said. This is the third contract from Bajaj Hindustan in a span of three years, Praj said in a notice to the BSE quoting Mr Pramod Chaudhari, the company's Chairman. "Getting this order is also a matter of great pride for Praj because Bajaj is also a repeat customer and a very special one for us," the notice said. The earlier projects included a fuel ethanol plant for the Gola Gokamath unit and a distillery with fuel ethanol production facility at Palia. Earlier, in January 2005, Praj had bagged two orders in North India, one from Rana Sugars, Punjab and another from JHV sugars, Uttar Pradesh. Both units are attached to sugar mills.
