17 new projects okayed for N-E

New Delhi , Feb. 7

THE Ministry of Urban Development has sanctioned 17 new projects and schemes for the North-East and Sikkim during this financial year.

"These schemes amounting to Rs 116.019 crore will be executed by NBCC or the State Government agencies. An amount of Rs 78.727 crore has been released out of the total provision of Rs 114 crore for the current financial year," an official release said.

The new projects include reconstruction of Kohima Super Market complex, Nagaland (Rs 8.85 crore); providing gravity water supply to Tuensang Town, Nagaland (Rs 15.118 crore); and construction of shopping complex block at Thoubal, Manipur (Rs 22.14 crore), among others.
