Policy Info-Tech - E-Governance Cabinet panel okays MCA computerisation Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 2 AFTER overcoming initial hiccups, the ambitious computerisation plan of the Ministry of Company Affairs (MCA) is set to take off with the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs on Wednesday giving its nod to the e-governance programme called `DCA-21'. The programme, which is to be implemented through a direct built, own, operate and transfer model (BOOT) entails an outlay of up to Rs 341.214 crore (with a provision for an additional amount of up to Rs 4.68 crore). After going through the bidding process, the Ministry had zeroed in on TCS for implementing the project. The BOOT player has been given a timeframe for the implementation of the project. The project was expected to be fully operational by the end of 2005. The services proposed include filing of statutory documents, registration of new companies, and availability of documents in public domain through use of computers and the Internet.
