Arumuga's osmosis plant at Rajapalayam

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: THE Arumuga Textile Exporters (ATE) has installed a three stage Reverse Osmosis System at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore to recycle the used water and treat trade effluents in wet processing at its plant at Rajapalayam.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr A. Arumugham, the Chairman of Arumuga Group Industries engaged in the manufacture and export of cotton grey and bleached fabrics to European and Asian countries, said the system is capable of handling 3,00,000 litres per day of feed effluent suitable for recycling.

This has helped to improve textile reprocessing and save lots of ground water and the environment. Industries engaged in textile wet processing would gain immensely by such adoption. Triple effect evaporator and effluent treatment plants have also been installed and commissioned at Arumuga Group. The evaporator is capable of evaporating about 2,000 litres per hour, he added.
