Scrapping PPF

Among all the measures of savings introduced by the Government, the Public Provident Fund is the most popular.

It is easy to operate and has many provisions for withdrawal in need.

Now it is reported that the Government may put an end to this scheme in view of other measures introduced.

The Government will be ill-advised if it contemplates ending this useful fund which is highly beneficial for many unorganised workers (who do not get any provident fund or pension) as well.
