AyurShop opens retail outlet in Bangalore

ONLINE ayurveda store has opened its first offline outlet in the country with a store-in-store at FamilyMart in Bangalore.

The store offers some 1000 brands of medicine, cosmetics and other products of 11 GMP-certified ayurveda manufacturers across the country. A new global delivery service called `Get AyurShop at home' has also started to supply over 5,000 ayurveda products to customers anywhere in the world, according to the CEO of, Mr Vikas Sharma.

The store is the second phase of the 15-month-old AyurShop, which is now accessible in easy Web-based as well as conventional but customer-friendly modes, according to Mr Sharma, an IT professional-turned-ayurveda entrepreneur. "There is a huge interest and a huge market for ayurveda products from small towns in India and abroad" and the company was looking at expanding its offline base through franchised outlets across major cities in the country, he told Business Line. was started as a joint initiative of Mr Sharma's Vijayanagaram Ayurved Bhandar and software support provider Brain Systems of Bangalore to spread awareness of wellness and health through ayurveda principles.
