Kochi , Jan. 6

THE Spices Trading Corporation Limited, (STCL Limited), a subsidiary of the State Trading Corporation (STC), would do the direct e-marketing of organic pepper, cardamom and vanilla for the Spices Board.

According to a senior STCLL official, his company had bought only 500 kg of MG1 and TGBP grade organic pepper and equal quantity of superior grade 7.5 mm plus bold cardamom from auctions to start with the operations. The Board had specified quality parameters, he said.

The products, branded as "Flavourit" would be packaged by a company at the Edayar industrial estate near Aluva. It would be available in attractive consumer packs of various denominations, he said.

The IDBI Bank has been selected as the financial institution to conduct the transactions, Mr S. Kannan, Director (Marketing), Spices Board said.

Advertising campaign and distribution network has been finalised.

The cost for designing of the packs and the initial expenses on promotional activities are being met by the Board, he added.

The official launching of it would be announced later depending on the availability of the Union Commerce Minister, he said.
