DG Shipping signs pact with Ireland

MUMBAI: The Directorate General of Shipping has signed a bilateral undertaking with the Ireland administration that will enable Indian seafarers with Irish certificates to work on Indian flag vessels. This is expected to increase the supply of seafarers to Indian flag vessels.

In fact, the shipping industry has been requesting for sometime now that certificates issued by the Ireland administration should be allowed to work on Indian flag vessels.
