Software `Indian animation industry may grow to $1.5 b by 2005' Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 28 THE animation industry in India, according to National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), currently growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 per cent, is estimated to reach $1.5 billion by 2005. The domestic industry growth would be driven by more co-production deals and increasing development of intellectual properties in India. The total global animation production is expected to be $51.7 billion by year 2005. The President of Nasscom, Mr Kiran Karnik, in a statement said, "The worldwide animation market is very large, and growing. We see tremendous prospects for India to be a major player in this space".
