Alliances & Joint Ventures Rain Calcining renews pact with Oxbow Carbon Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 22 RAIN Calcining Ltd (RCL) has renewed its association with the US-based Oxbow Carbon & Minerals LLC with revised agreements to market calcined petroleum coke (CPC) and supply raw material - green petroleum coke (GPC). The company informed the stock exchanges on Wednesday that under the agreements Oxbow would continue to act as its marketing representative for CPC, in all countries except India. It could also source, procure and deliver GPC from refineries to the Visakhapatnam plant. Oxbow would market the expanded capacity of the 4.8-lakh tonne of CPC expected to come online from April 1. It could also supply the additional quantity of GPC required by RCL consequent to the expansion. According to RCL, these agreements would continue till December 31, 2007, unless terminated earlier by mutual agreement. The company's initial supply and marketing agreement was with the US-based Applied Industrial Materials Corporation, which was acquired by Oxbow during December last year. The combined entities have formed the largest marketer/distributor of petroleum coke in the world with volumes reaching approximately 12 million tonnes. Oxbow markets petroleum coke to customers throughout the US and more than 35 countries.
