ICAI willing to share expertise with Chinese body

New Delhi , Dec. 19

THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has given its expression of interest to the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) for providing online Continuing Professional Education programmes to Chinese Accountants.

A statement issued by ICAI said the institute would also share its expertise to promote post-qualification courses for members of CICPA, capacity building in emerging areas, peer review mechanism and setting up a Financial Reporting & Review Board in China.

An ICAI team recently visited China to study capital market regulations, banking and insurance industry, stock market mechanism and university education system in China.

During the visit, ICAI and CICPA agreed to set up a technical desk at both the institutes whereby the queries of members at both ends could be settled.

This will also, to a large extent, help overcome the language barriers between the members of the two countries.
