THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: `Tourism India - Kerala Tourism Handbook', a directory brought out by the Tourism India Magazine in association with the Department of Tourism, Kerala, has been formally released.
The Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ms Renuka Chaudhary, handed over the first copy to the Secretary, Tourism, Government of India, Ms Uma Pillai, at a function held at the India Pavilion of the World Tourism Fair in London recently.
According to a spokesman of `Tourism India', the handbook has been produced with tour operators and corporate bodies in mind. It lists hotels, ayurveda resorts and home-stay and houseboat facilities available in Kerala. It also contains basic information about the State and lists various tourism information centres and related public sector undertakings.
The Tourism Departments of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have decided to take a leaf out of Kerala's book and have approached `Tourism India' for assistance, the spokesman said.
