People Corporate - Corporate Disputes In every adversity, there is an opportunity, Anil reminds family Our Bureau
Mumbai , Dec. 11 AS a battle of sorts rages within the promoter family of Reliance Industries, Mr Anil Ambani, its Vice-Chairman, has reminded his family that in every adversity, there is an opportunity. "I would like to remind my respected elder brother Mukesh, my dear mother Kokilaben and my sisters what my father Dhirubhai Ambani said, `In every adversity, there is an opportunity. If you can read it, you can do it'," Mr Anil Ambani said at a function organised on Saturday to release books authored by Gujarati writer Mr Dinkar Joshi. Shri Ramesh Oza, a Gujarati spiritual leader considered close to the Ambani family, was the chief guest at the function. Mr Anil mentioned that he had attended the function on Shri Oza's special request. Earlier, referring to his introduction to the audience as a Member of Parliament, Mr Anil said, "I am also an employee of Reliance Industries." His short speech felicitating Mr Joshi comprised mainly quotes from Mahatma Gandhi, Shakespeare and Dhirubhai Ambani. "Wealth without work, knowledge without character and business without morality are self-destructive," he quoted the Mahatma. Quoting the Bard, Mr Anil said, "There is no such thing as good and bad. It is the mind that decides what is good and what is bad." And referring to his father, he said, "I learnt humility from him. I learnt the value of trust, faith, caring and sharing from him." Mr Anil, however, maintained stoic silence as he walked away, his wife Ms Tina Ambani in tow, amid a slew of queries from newspersons gathered outside the hall.
