Meet on smart appliances

HYDERABAD: The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) would host a two-day international conference on smart appliances as a part of its bi-decennial celebrations in January.

The General Chair of the Hyderabad Chapter of IEEE, Mr J.A. Chowdary, in a statement said the conference titled "Enabling Technologies for Smart Appliances," has attracted attention from academicians and scholars from across the world and the organisers have received over a 100 technical papers.

Of them, IEEE has short-listed about 28 papers. The conference will have speakers addressing areas such as VLSI (very large system integration), embedded systems, telecom and pervasive computing. The conference will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, will also be addressed by the IEEE President, Mr W. Cleon Anderson.

Tata Consultancy Services, Adaptec, Conexant, and Magma are among companies, which will sponsor the event along with the Andhra Pradesh Government.
