Air India arm to get 18 Boeing 737-800sW

Mumbai , Dec. 7

THE board of Air India Charters Ltd (AICL), a subsidiary of Air-India, on Tuesday met in Delhi and approved the plan to acquire 18 Boeing 737-800sW for its new airline, Air India Express, for services to the Gulf and the Far East.

These aircrafts will replace the ones taken on lease and will be operational from April 2005, an airline spokesperson said.
