Mergers & Acquisitions Answerthink acquires EzCommerce Our Bureau
Mr Ken Coppins, Chief Delivery Officer, Answerthink of the US, and Mr Satyadev Bommireddy, Managing Director, Answerthink, India at a press conference in Hyderabad on Friday. A. Roy Chowdhury
Hyderabad , Dec. 3 ANSWERTHINK Inc, a $150-million Nasdaq-listed IT services provider, has announced the completion of acquisition of EzCommerce Global Solutions Inc, with development centre here. It is also expanding the latter's India centre here for the global implementation-cum-technology support solutions. The Managing Director of Answerthink, Mr Satyadev Bommireddy, and the Service Line Leader-Business Applications, Mr Kenneth M. Coppins, told newspersons that the acquisition of EzCommerce Global for $12 million (Rs 53 crore), a privately-held corporation was concluded earlier this year and the Indian operations have since become a wholly-owned subsidiary of AnswerThink. Mr Bommireddy said that EzCommerce, with revenues of about $10 million and addressing the enterprise resource planning (ERP) business, in verticals such as pharma and FMCG sectors, would have a robust marketing resource of Answerthink overseas. Mr Coppins said, "We plan to increase the numbers here to about 125 people shortly. We are in the process of finalising our investment plans for year 2005 and announce them next year when the company CEO is likely to visit India." Mr Bommireddy said, "Answerthink plans to transition and extend its application management services offerings to a broader client base concurrent with the opening of the global support centre. This would mean extending technical support and implementation services for over 50 clients spread across the globe. This approach will enable to reduce client costs for SAP deployment and support work. In fact, EzCommerce had deployed applications for several large domestic pharma and FMCG companies including Ranbaxy, Dr Reddy's, Subros and Usha, and now we expect to target other industry verticals."
