Chennai , Dec. 3

THE Scandent Group, an Indian-owned Singapore company with operations in Bangalore, has completed the acquisition of Cambridge Integrated Services Group Inc, a $230-million back-office arm of Chicago insurer Aon Corp. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

It may be recalled that a year ago, the Scandent group and SSI Ltd, a Chennai-based software firm, merged their information technology services business to form a new information technology entity.

A press release on the Scandent Group Web site says that as a result of the Cambridge's acquisition, Scandent Group will have more than 4,000 employees with offices in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Established in 1994, Scandent Group is a business process outsourcing and global IT consulting company that has served more than 600 insurance, financial services, healthcare, government and manufacturing firms worldwide.

Headquartered in Greenwich, US, Cambridge is said to be the largest independently owned property and casualty claims and loss cost management service provider. Cambridge serves insurance carriers and public entities in the US, Europe and Australia.
