Anti-mite programme in AP

HYDERABAD: The Government has launched a programme for the control of Eriophyid mite attack on coconut plantations spread over 75,000 hectares in 10 districts of the State.

The programme envisages formation of official committees from the village to district level and an expert committee at the State level for assisting the farmers in controlling the mite attack. The State Minister for Agriculture, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, held video conference with the officials of agriculture and horticulture departments of the 10 districts to review the effective implementation of the programme.
