Rs 5 crore for agri institution in AP

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Minister for Agriculture, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, has sanctioned Rs 5 crore to the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University exclusively for conducting research on various agricultural crops.

Inaugurating a three-day orientation training-cum-workshop on Crop Resource Groups organised by the university from Thursday, Mr Reddy urged scientists to ensure that their research results reach the farmers completely so that they would be able to increase agricultural productivity.

In this context, he pointed out that a recent survey report of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research had revealed that only 30 per cent of the research results were reaching the farmers.
