Don't get nixed that Sensex didn't cross 6000

Though still smarting from high-decibel assault during Diwali, and the lost ODI, Khan returns to the market groove to chat with Jogin, Dakshinamoorthy and Sridevi. Eavesdrop!

Kay: Hope everybody celebrated well! Ready to come

back? Cautiously?

Sri: I'm unhappy we didn't cross the magic

number 6000. :-(

Dax: Sri, index touched six K, didn't it? Why get nixed that

it closed lower?

Jog: No big deal, I'd say. Next few weeks or months, new

high is coming!

Kay: He's on a high, looks like. But companies are

doing well.

Sri: IOB may be marked lower,

I'm afraid.

Dax: Possible. FM has hinted the

bank would not be part of a

consolidation process.

Jog: Infosys, anybody? ADS

premium has shrunk from 60 per

cent to around 45 per cent level.

Sri: My view is that it may exhibit

a firm undertone. Its plans to

ramp up hiring is a positive. JMO

Kay: Right. Gap between domestic and ADR prices may

narrow ahead of the sponsored ADS offer.

Dax: Sundaram Clayton's move to set up a subsidiary to

focus on exports looks positive for the stock

Jog: Chart patterns point to modest downside in the Nifty.

Kay: Yeah, you make sense; if Nifty moves past 1890,

upward trend may gather further momentum.

Dax: Vroom! Car sales have remained buoyant in

October. Maruti grew by 35 per cent on volumes.

Sri: With festive season offers in November, robust

numbers can be expected for this month, too.

Jog: Tata Motors to be in the limelight. Sound Horn in a

sound truck! What's the original proverb?

Kay: Dry-cargo freight rates are expected to touch

record highs besting their previous peaks touched in

January this year. GE Shipping and Shipping Corp could

benefit if this plays out.

Dax: You know what's coming up for hearing on

Wednesday?

Sri: Acharya's bail plea? Or, Reliance Infocomm's petition

against MTNL, which slapped Rs 309 crore fee for illegal

routing of ILD calls?

Kay: Reliance stock movement may stay volatile next

week. Think twice before entering that counter.

Jog: Call me a madcap but I'd bet on mid-cap. Such as

Polyplex Corpn. Its Thailand subsidiary has more value

than parent. Getting listed in Singapore exchange soon!

Sri: SRF nylon tyre cord co. Good quarters ahead because

of favourable antidumping duty.

Dax: They're expanding on polyester film and pharma

chemicals too. Monozyme India got anti AIDS kit orders

from UN. Look for a good run-up. Ditto with Torrent

Cables. Good clientele.

Kay: Fem Care Pharma in cosmetics. Rs 15-cr expansion

in Himachal. No excise or ST! :-)

Jog: They do outsourcing for biggies. Profits would double

next year! Cheers!

Sri: As Sam Goldwyn said, "I'll give you a definite maybe."

Take risk, it's all yours!
