Indian Rare Earth unit's plan

MADURAI: Indian Rare Earths Ltd, situated at Manavalakurichi in Kanyakumari district, is to be expanded at an estimated cost Rs 40 crore, according to the head of the plant, Mr K.P. Srinivasan.

The initiative is to create more employment opportunities to the local fishermen community. The completion of the expansion programme would help to double up the production, he said while presiding over the valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week recently, the sources mentioned.
