Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Minister for Local Self Government, Mr K. Kutty Ahmed Kutty, has directed that all local self-government bodies must come out with a Citizens Charter by November 30.

An official spokesman quoted the Minister as saying that the publication of the Citizens Charter is a right that can be lawfully demanded by the public. Strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply with the necessary guidelines. The Citizens Charter is required by law to be published by affixing it on the notice board at the office of the panchayat to inform the public.
