US model

This is with reference to "Indian cos must follow US model in globalisation"(Business Line, November 7).

The role of the public sector as well as the private sector in developing economies like India is different from those of the developed countries like the US.

The developing countries are in need of private support in socio-economic progress and nation building. Public-private partnership in development is necessary for speedy progress. This is not the case in the US.

Mimicking the US model of globalisation will hamper the developmental activities in India.

The Indian Government and private sector should adopt modified models of globalisation so as to suit their needs and commitments.

C. Ramesh
