Internet BharatMatrimony plays the `panditji' with VeriProfile Our Bureau
Ahmedabad , Nov. 3 IT was a job reserved for the `panditji' of yore, but now if you want to get the credentials of your prospective life partner verified, BharatMatrimony.com will do the needful for a fee. "We are merely responding to a customer need. Lots of our users have no way to verify the details posted on the Net as they may not know someone trustworthy at the place where the prospective mate is located. We will certify the profile and give greater comfort to the users as they narrow down on their life partner," the BharatMatrimony.com Business Head, Mr S. Suresh, told Business Line here on Tuesday. The VeriProfile service will help the registered users to verify the details of their prospective life partners without revealing their own identity. Users can also get their own profile verified by the portal as a measure of transparency in the entire process. The company would verify details such as age, income, educational qualifications, medical background and job profile, Mr Suresh said. "It works with the consent of the person being profiled. Our representatives would visit their home and even do a neighbourhood check. We take it as our moral responsibility to make Internet matrimony totally reliable," he said. The company, which boasts of over 25 lakh active subscribers and about 3.5 lakh success stories, says its operations are profitable. BharatMatrimony earns its revenues from subscription fees and value-added services such as making and matching horoscopes.
