Raghupati Venkaiah award

HYDERABAD: Mr V.B. Rajendra Prasad of Jagapati Art Pictures has won the prestigious Raghupati Venkaiah Award for the year 2003 for his contribution to the Indian film industry.

The 72-year-old film producer-director, who started his carrier in 1960, made 34 films and directed 22 films in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages.

The award is a birthday gift to Mr Rajendra Prasad, who was born on November 4, 1932.

Some of his films like Dasara Bullodu, Aatma Balam and Adhrushtavanthudu, still got good response from the people. His son, Jagapathi Babu, is a popular film actor.

Mr Rajendra Prasad would receive the award on November 6, along with the winners of Nandi awards.
