Canadian team scouting for jt ventures, tie-ups

A CANADIAN delegation from its Quebec province is on a five-day visit to the country looking for joint ventures and partnerships with Indian companies.

The delegation, which includes about a dozen companies including from various sectors such as health sciences, information technology, aerospace, is being led by Mr Marc Ferland, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economic and Regional Development, Quebec.

Highlighting opportunities for collaboration, Mr Ferland said that many companies from Quebec such as CAE Inc, Met-Chem, Bombardier International, are well known in India.

Mr Mario Lebrun, Vice-President, Investment Quebec, who is also part of the delegation, said that Quebec is a competitive economy with low operating cost and high skilled workforce.

He also pointed out that Quebec has attractive R&D incentives besides favourable corporate tax system.
