THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The divisional office of National Insurance Company has disbursed an amount of Rs 36,000 to two beneficiaries of the Pravasi Insurance scheme.

The Labour Minister, Mr Babu Divakaran, on Wednesday handed over the cheque for the amount to Mr V. Rajesh of East Kallada, Kollam, and Mr B. Prathapachandran of Poonthura, Thiruvananthapuram.

Announcing this, Mr M. P. Ramkumar, Senior Divisional Manager, National Insurance, said here that these policyholders had to return home after failing to land a suitable job abroad. They had approached National Insurance and enrolled themselves under Pravasi Insurance scheme before flying out of the country.

Pravasi Insurance is a policy devised by the Government to protect the interests of job seekers outside India.
