H-P launches storage solutions

HEWLETT-PACKARD on Monday unveiled the HP StorageWorks IP - Storage 500 and 1500 solutions - targeted at the Asia-Pacific market.

The two-entry level storage solutions leverage Ethernet infrastructure and are expected to benefit the Indian SMB segment.

"StorageWorks IP helps customers consolidate storage from multiple DAS installations to a simple networked storage platform. It also helps in quick, easy, affordable capacity expansion, processing relief for application servers and providing cost effective transport for SAN (storage-area network)," Mr Avijit Basu, Country Manager, Network Storage Solution, Customer Solutions Group, Hewlett-Packard (India), was quoted as saying in a release.
