Tata Coffee Q2 net climbs 35 pc

BANGALORE: Tata Coffee Ltd reported a 35 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 2.80 crore for the second quarter ended September 2004, over Rs 2.08 crore registered in the corresponding period last fiscal. Revenues for the quarter grew by 6.3 per cent to Rs 51.32 crore, against Rs 48.26 crore in Q1 last year.

The company said it saw an upsurge of 30 per cent in instant coffee operations during the half-year. There was also a major improvement in the vending business, the company said in a press release. Mr Bean, the branded filter coffee sustained its presence in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, it said.
