Retailing Agri-Biz & Commodities - Dairy & Dairy Products Amul opens outlets in Ahmedabad bus stands Our Bureau
Ahmedabad , Oct. 18 WAITING at a bus stand could prompt many passengers to look around for something to munch or drink. Taking the opportunity, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, popularly known by its brand name `Amul', has drawn plans to open milk booths at bus stands in the State. As part of this initiative, the first four outlets were inaugurated in Ahmedabad recently, a company press release said. "The objective is to serve the passengers of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation buses with hygienic and nutritious milk and milk products. The booths, apart from providing sales and visibility to Amul, will also act as a means for the organisation to get closer to the customer. These booths would serve the entire range of Amul products including flavoured milk, ice-cream, chocolates, pouch milk and long life milk," the release said. The company is expanding the concept of milk booths across the country and Amul parlours exist in a couple of cities outside Gujarat. These include the Metro Rail in Delhi, Infosys and Wipro in Bangalore apart from a few other outlets in Hyderabad and Mumbai.
