Hyderabad , Oct. 13 TO woo global infrastructure developers, the State Government plans to create a separate promotional agency that will provide for a single-window clearance to mega infrastructure projects. The Government is contemplating the creation of 22 new townships along the 8-lane 160-km super ring road project around the twin cities supported by multi-modal transport. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said this single-window process agency would streamline the clearances required for infrastructure projects in the State and work as a facilitator to all investments into the State. Speaking at the inauguration of Cyber Pearl, built to host technology companies in Hitec City, Hyderabad, by L&T and Singapore-based Ascendas, Dr Reddy said the Government is keen to attract global developers who would take up various infrastructure projects. "Singapore has learnt through the losses it made with the initial fab (fabrication facility), but today it can boast of multiple mega fabs. I request you to share your experiences, technology and invest in AP. L&T has come forward to construct the first fab building in AP," he said. "Our estimates project that there is demand for about 30 million sq. ft. of office space over three-four years. This cannot be met with unless we take up projects now and attract private investments. Therefore, we have decided to invite global players and provide easy clearance to their initiatives," Dr Reddy said. "The IT exports from AP have crossed the $1.1-billion mark and the State is currently placed fifth in terms of overall software exports. We have embarked on the process to create additional infrastructure and attract more MNCs, leveraging the large talent pool. This is aimed at taking AP a few notches up the export ladder, possibly to third or even second slot," he said.
