Internet `Search engine space turning competitive' Our Bureau
Bangalore , Oct. 13 SEARCH engine, a highly technology business, is set to become competitive and could lead to quality and good search experiences to users. Constant improvement in technology could lead to changes in fundamental search approach leading to presentation of resources in a more organised manner. This how the founders of Google, Mr Sergey Brin, President (Technology), and Mr Larry Page, President (Products), visualised the search engine business to evolve in the next five years. On an itinerant visit to Bangalore, after brief stopover in Delhi and Hyderabad, the co-founders of Google felt that the business was replete with great potential. Google has set up two centres, one each in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Answering questions on Google's new offerings, Mr Bring and Page averred that though there was no specific India mandate. On the India investment plan, Mr Page and Mr Brin declined to give specific figures and said it would depend on the requirements as the activities progress. Mr Lalitesh Katragadda, Centre Head, Google India R&D, and Mr Krishna Bharat, Principal Scientist, Good Inc (Research), Bangalore, said their centre could bring out the next great Google product and already it was working on some of them.
