Press Note 18

This is with reference to "Compete or perish" (Business Line, October 9). The article ignores the fact that discarding Press Note 18 will be detrimental to the domestic industry.

Sudden withdrawal of Press Note 18 may also result in unilateral withdrawal of foreign partners from joint ventures, which may eventually result in instability.
