The Hindu Business Line : Roadmap for rice research

HYDERABAD: The three-day international symposium that concluded here on Wednesday has drawn a roadmap for future research thrusts in rice in order to mounting demand for rice.

"The meet laid emphasis on genetic enhancement for yield, durable resistance, grain quality, nutrient value, biofortification, development sustainable production and projection management technologies," a press release from Directorate of Rice Research said here.

About 400 rice researchers, including 20 from the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines, attended the meet.
