Blood donation week

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All Kerala Blood Donors Society (KEBS) and Terumo Penpol are teaming up to observe a `Voluntary Blood Donation Week' from Saturday onwards.

A series of programs to promote voluntary blood donation have been planned for the week, which includes training programmes for donors, blood donation camps, elocution and essay competitions and promotional programmes.

The programmes on each day starting from September 25 (Saturday) are training on voluntary donation, awareness seminar, elocution competition for colleges in the city, donation programmes at the Infosys centre, S.N. College, Chempazhanthy, and the Ayurveda College here.

The concluding day on October 1 will have two major programmes; (a) A donation camp and observance of National Blood Donation Day at the University Study Centre and (b) A candle light procession to promote voluntary donation.
