Chennai , Sept. 23

MIRINDA today launched three flavours - Mirinda Mango Tingle (a blend of orange and mango), Mirinda Strawberry and Mirinda Apple - for the Tamil Nadu market. Tamil film actor Vivekh endorses these products.

Mr Lloyd Mathias, Executive Vice-President (Marketing), Pepsi Foods, said that the company decided to launch these flavours in Tamil Nadu because it was a large consumer of carbonated soft drinks and fresh fruit juices.

The company decided to launch these flavours for a short period - hence the limited editions tag - to stir up the market, he added. The new drinks are available in two pack sizes - 200 ml returnable glass bottles and 600 ml PET - at Rs 6 and Rs 18 respectively.

Mr Venkat Shankar, Head, Pepsi Southern Region, said that the company had increased the price of the 200 ml pack from Rs 5 by a rupee because research had shown that the market was ready for the higher price band.

These products have been launched in time for the festive season, he added.
