Animals & Livestock Training programme for sheep farmers, fishermen in Karnataka Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 21 THE State Government, along with Metro Cash & carry India Pvt Ltd and DEG, a German development funding organisation, on Tuesday announced the launch of training programmes for sheep farmers and fishermen across the State. Over the next one year, the training programme will help over 14,000 sheep farmers at 70 locations in 14 districts get exposure to modern and scientific sheep breeding techniques, including breeding, nutrition and housing. Karnataka has over 1.2 million sheep farmers most of who live under poverty line with marginal or no land holdings, a Metro press release stated.
