RBI & Other Central Banks Industry & Economy - Exports & Imports RBI winds up State-level export panel Our Bureau
Mumbai , Sept. 21 THE Reserve Bank of India has decided to wind up the State Level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC) and constitute a separate sub-committee under the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) for the redressal of exporters' grievances. "The matter regarding effective functioning of the SLEPCs in States had been reviewed by us recently. In light of several other forum available to exporters to ventilate their grievances at the State level, it has been decided, in consultation with the Government, to wind up SLEPCs," the RBI said in a notification here on Tuesday. The exporters' problems in relation to export finance and other bank related issues at the State level will now be taken up by the sub-committee of SLBC.
