CAs' meet in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) are jointly organising an Intentional Continuing Professional Education Conference (CPEC) at Kovalam on September 24 and 25.

The Thiruvananthapuram branch of the ICAI will host the conference, which has `Emerging Global Opportunities' as the principal theme.

Contemporary topics with specific emphasis on changing global business environment and attuning of the accounting profession to the growing needs of the business community will be the thrust of the conference, according to Mr Sunil Goyal, President, ICAI, and Mr Indrajith Fernando, President, ICASL.

The conference would begin with the theme address by Mr G. Ramaswamy, Chairman, CPEC, which is the coordinator of the conference.

Technical sessions will cover the topics such as audit and assurance standards, international taxation, double taxation agreements, taxation of non-residents and transfer pricing, business process outsourcing and international audit systems audit.
