Events Commodity trading workshop to focus on potential Our Bureau
Mumbai , Sept. 17 THE Bombay Stock Exchange Training Institute is organising an international workshop on commodity trading from October 3 to 7 in the city. The workshop will focus on the commodities of interest to the Asian markets. It is intended to highlight the potential of the commodities market (both cash and futures) and the emerging business opportunities in this sector. Apart from the review of the commodity markets (both global and Indian) and the commodity-specific deliberations including fundamental and technical analysis (bullion, palm oil, industrial metals and rubber), the workshop will involve presentations by experts on topics such as financial structures for the commodity markets, warehouse receipts and collateral management. Price risk management, commodity derivatives trading and regulatory issues such as legal and taxation issues will be the main focus at the workshop, BSE Training Institute officials said. Companies with exposure to commodities, financial institutions, commodity exchange officials, brokerage houses and investors are expected to participate in this workshop. At the end of the workshop, field visits to a couple of commodity exchanges have been planned.
