THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Significant opportunities exist for businesses in Kerala and the US to work together, said Mr Richard D. Haynes, US Consul General for South India.

Addressing a meeting organised by the Kerala Industries department to discuss the `development priorities of Kerala', Mr Haynes explained that he was visiting the State as part of the effort to improve Indo-US economic cooperation. Besides meeting the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, Mr Haynes also held discussions with Government officials and senior corporate executives in Thiruvananthapuram.

The team from the US Consulate in Chennai, which includes Mr Haynes and the Commercial Consul, Mr Bruce Quinn, will also visit Kochi.
