Mahindra Scorpio in Qatar

MUMBAI: Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday announced the launch of Scorpio in Qatar through Dohar Motors & Trading Group of Companies. The roll out of Scorpio in Qatar follows the sports utility vehicle's (SUV) launch in Kuwait, Uruguay and South Africa.

Mahindra & Mahindra has been, of late, focusing on seeking diverse markets and increasing the visibility of the SUV outside the country. The Scorpio model in Qatar would ride on a Renault gasoline engine, even as the diesel engine option too would be available.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Alan Durante, Executive Director and President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, "We are looking forward to a fruitful relationship with Doha Motors in Qatar. With our wide experience in India and West Asian countries, we are poised to make a mark in the challenging and promising Qatar market."

The Doha Motors, founded in 1971, is one of the largest business houses in Qatar. Some of the areas the group is engaged in, include oil and gas field supplies, fuel supplies, maintenance, fabrication, process control instrumentation and vales.
