Natco launches new drug

HYDERABAD: Natco Pharma Ltd has launched "Cantret", a drug for treatment of ovarian cancer.

According to a company press release here on Monday, Cantret (altretamine 50 mg) are being made available in India for the first time. The medicine is priced around Rs 39,000 for 10 strips of 10 capsules each against the imported medicine's price of over Rs 1 lakh per 100 capsules.

The company stated that Cantret would be the preferred choice in the management of ovarian cancer because it provides a prolonged disease-free interval with minimal toxicity.
