Sugar Haryana co-op sugar mills bag awards Rajesh Ahuja
Chandigarh , Aug. 27 THE co-operative sugar mills of Shahabad and Sonipat in Haryana have won five national awards announced by the Technical Committee of National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories, New Delhi for 2003-04. A spokesman of the Haryana Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Shahabad mill had won the National Award of best co-operative mill in other recovery zone of India as well as first prize for financial management and second prize for cane development. The sugar mill in Sonipat won the first prize both in Cane Development as well as technical efficiency categories. The Shahabad Mill had the highest crushing capacity of 3,500 tonnes cane per day amongst all the mills in the North-West zone including Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh.
