Outlook Rallis to focus on new products Our Bureau
Mumbai , Aug. 26 RALLIS India Ltd, in a bid to drive growth, will focus on new products leveraging on its research centre activities. New products have been contributing 25-30 per cent to the turnover of the company, said Mr R. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Rallis India Ltd. "Of the total sales, products launched in the last five years have been contributing 30 per cent," said Dr V.S. Sohoni, Managing Director. During the current fiscal, the company will take a three-pronged approach to drive growth, Mr Gopalakrishnan said. He emphasised on the need to strengthen the interface between farmers and the company much more than in the past through disciplined marketing and distribution. An improvement in product offerings through research and leverage Rallis Research Centre are the other focus areas for the company during the current fiscal. The company has been going through a restructuring initiative and a set of actions have already been put in place in various facets, the company's Chairman told shareholders at the annual general meeting. The dealer network has been realigned and the number of dealers has been brought down from 8,000 to 1,500. "We are looking at dealers with increased focus on pesticides," Dr Sohoni said.
