AIR Deccan is trying out innovative methods to increase its revenues.

The A-320, which was deployed for the inaugural flight of the airline to Delhi, had the colours and logo of NDTV, a news channel, painted on it.

Exactly a year ago, the airline painted the entire aircraft, which was deployed for the inaugural flight to Mangalore, with the colours and logo of a software company.

For the company, such an advertisement gives it a big high, while the airline benefits too through revenue from such innovative advertisements.

Inside the aircraft, the airline has draw-down screens, which will serve a twin purpose. It will offer in flight entertainment on the long haul flights with the latest news updates through a tie up with NDTV and screen other programmes. Though the airline serves food, passengers have to pay for it. It has also introduced in flight shopping where passengers can buy gift articles. The airline is also the first to do away with air tickets saving on costs again.
