Airlines Kerala Govt's plea on airfares Our Bureau
A vast majority of the non-residents in the Gulf sector are from Kerala. The Onam festival season also coincides with the recess for schools in the Gulf sector, as does Christmas later in the year. But Air India, the international carrier, has made it a point to raise the fares during these festival seasons, while offering to make a grand gesture of reducing them during off-season. This policy is devoid of any logic, Mr Hassan pointed out, and demanded that the Centre should call a stop to the practice.
